Hub Studio

A Place to Create, Connect & Thrive

For over 30 yearsThe Hub Studio has been at the heart of Arcadea Disability Arts CIO, supporting learning disabled, autistic, and neurodivergent artists from across Newcastle and the North East.

Based in our fully accessible central Newcastle building, The Hub provides a vibrant, inclusive, and professional space where creativity flourishes every day.

Here, artists are supported to develop skillsbuild confidence, and express their unique artistic voices through a wide range of creative practices.

What Happens at The Hub

Our daily studio sessions are led by qualified professional artists and experienced support staff, creating a welcoming environment where artists can explore and grow at their own pace.

At The Hub, creativity takes many forms — from painting, sculpture, and printmaking, to music, digital media, and performance.

Every artist is encouraged to try new things, share ideas, and contribute to the rich creative community that defines Arcadea.

Beyond the Studio

The Hub artists are active participants in the wider cultural life of the city and beyond.

They regularly:

  • 🎨 Exhibit work in local and national galleries
  • 🎭 Collaborate with other artists and organisations
  • 📻 Host a weekly radio show on Nova Radio Online, sharing their voices, music, and creative insights with a wider audience

We’re always looking for new collaborations and creative partnerships— opportunities that connect our artists with the world and celebrate the diversity of artistic expression.

Unleash your inner artist!
