On Friday we visited the Baltic to see the Daniel Buren exhibition “catch as catch can’, Apparently he is widely considered to be France’s greatest living artist.
The skylights of the Baltic upper gallery were covered with sheets of coloured gel, lighting up this huge space with greens, yellows, reds and blues, the nearer you got the the skylight the more intense the colours became. We were all fascinated by the effect, but wished it had been a sunnier day.
